Nottingham Zinc Group Ltd specialises in leading-edge coating solutions. It is one of the largest independent alkaline zinc plating business in the UK providing expertise to the automotive, construction and manufacturing sectors. Its purpose-built factory in Nottinghamshire has three separate hi-tech continuous plating lines, one powder coating plant and workshop facilities for product refurbishment.

The University of Worcester has been confirmed as one of the UK's greenest universities in the 2013 People & Planet Green League with students and staff working positively to promote environmental sustainability and biodiversity across the entire institution. As part of the university’s commitment to sustainability it registered for free water efficiency support from WRAP through the Rippleffectonline training tool to identify water-saving opportunities.

City University London provides higher education, research and catering for around 17,000 students through six Schools. 

The university uses a large quantity of water and is taking action to reduce water use in its buildings through a refurbishment programme. A free Rippleffect site visit by WRAP led to total annual water savings of up to 2,500m³, with associated potential cost savings worth up to £5,000.

London Metropolitan University has campuses in central and north London. The university has made a commitment to reducing its environmental impact and its Environmental Sustainability Team has established projects to address key areas – energy, water, waste and travel as well as staff and student awareness. 

The cost of food being wasted in the UK from the UK hospitality and food service (HaFS) sector is estimated at £2.5 billion per year in 2011. This report draws together a number of pieces of research and highlights the opportunities to reduce waste and save money.

Save £millions through food waste prevention

Stansted Airport Limited worked with catering outlets to fit food waste recycling collections into their busy schedule, helping to cut costs and meet landfill diversion targets.

Eden Caterers is based in London, employs 25 people and caters for over 20,000 people each month. The company has implemented a number of measures to help it with its ambition to achieve zero waste to landfill.
