Willie Wood is a senior horticulturist with over 30 years of experience in the fresh produce industry, specialising in quantifying supply chain risk and resilience, grower development across large complex global supply chains.
As Head of Technical at Worldwide Fruit Ltd, Willie leads the technical team, supplier / grower approval and supply chain sustainability across their global grower network.
A certified Lean Black Belt (LCA Level 2a), he is one of the business leads embedding continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the organization.
Over the past eight years, Willie has helped shape Worldwide Fruit’s supplier management and development framework, ensuring strong alignment between growers and customer needs while supporting long-term resilience and capability building.
He has a deep interest in sustainable and regenerative farming, and is committed to profiling sector best practice, strengthening collective learning, and promoting the value of collaboration across large and complex supply chains.
Before joining Worldwide Fruit, Willie held senior technical roles at leading UK fresh-produce businesses, where he developed sustainability strategies, supported grower risk management, and aligned supplier practices with customer expectations.
He began his career in ornamental horticulture and still maintains a strong interest in amenity plant production.
