Food waste container delivery guidance

WRAP’s engagement with local authorities and other key stakeholders has highlighted the distribution of food waste containers to households as a critical risk to the successful rollout of kerbside food waste collection services. An efficient and accurate delivery programme is essential to secure early resident engagement and service buy-in.

This guidance, developed by WRAP and supported by Defra, outlines the main approaches to container distribution, covering both in-house and outsourced delivery options, and supports local authorities in planning and managing effective distribution programmes.
