Deputy Chair
Appointed to the Board July 2019
Sarah Chapman has been building businesses and organisations that address the climate challenge since 2008.
Sarah has founded and led two renewable energy start-ups - Glowb (residential solar in the UK) and Faro Energy (B2B solar in emerging markets).
Glowb aimed to build a new residential solar and battery brand for the UK, delivering high quality installations, exceptional customer experience and smart battery control to UK homeowners.
Faro Energy is a clean energy finance firm that invests in distributed solar projects in emerging markets, primarily Brazil. Faro aims to accelerate the deployment of clean energy by demonstrating and scaling new funding solutions and business models. Faro Energy was sold in early 2020.
Prior to co-founding Faro, Sarah was the start-up Chief of Staff for the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate, a global coalition of world leaders, CEOs, heads of global institutions and researchers which launched the New Climate Economy report in 2014.
Previously Sarah worked in commercial and strategic roles in the UK and Australia for Climate Bridge, a carbon finance company which developed over 3GW renewable energy projects in China. Sarah started her career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where she focused on climate finance and clean technology.
Sarah now advises climate tech startups and venture capital firms on growth, strategy and leadership. In addition to WRAP, she currently serves on the board of Alight, a Swedish scale-up delivering solar-as-a-service to corporates across Europe.
Sarah holds a BA and MMath in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge.
