WRAP Cymru’s sustainable procurement team has worked in collaboration with ClwydAlyn, a North Wales Housing Association, and Beko to support the introduction of a new circular leasing purchasing model, to be more sustainable, cost effective and increase social value in social housing accommodation.

Through the Water Roadmap, the Wye & Usk Foundation worked with poultry businesses and retailers to implement manure export systems, improve farm infrastructure, and form a Poultry Sector Group for collaborative action and engagement with regulators and government.

Joining the Food Waste Reduction Roadmap gave Avondale Foods the tools and guidance to start reducing waste. They mapped factory waste flows, introduced lean practices to cut waste across operations, and diverted all food waste from landfill to anaerobic digestion or animal feed, with plans to expand redistribution through food charity partnerships.

Operating seven restaurants and cafés, Bluestone’s challenges included spoilage, and plate and preparation waste, compounded by seasonal fluctuations and guest expectations. Joining the Roadmap not only aligned with Bluestone’s values but provided a structured framework for improvement.

In 2011, Welsh Government introduced the original Collections Blueprint – a bold vision for a more sustainable, efficient, and consistent approach to waste collection by, or on behalf of, local authorities across Wales. To bring the Blueprint to life, WRAP Cymru has developed a suite of in-depth case studies showcasing how local authorities across Wales are putting it into action.
